Food Handler Course
Legislation requires each food business to ensure food handlers have the appropriate skills and knowledge for the work they do. Successful food businesses ensure their team members demonstrate excellent food safety practices by regularly reinforcing food handler competencies.
We offer onsite Food Handler courses tailored to your food service operations and workplace. Our courses cover:
- Personal health & hygiene and food handler responsibilities
- Food contamination - hazard types and sources
- High risk foods & the danger zone
- Preventing food contamination & bacterial growth
- Correct food handling techniques & procedures from receipt of incoming goods, storage, and preparation through to food service
- Correct use of probe thermometers and calibration
- Correct cleaning & sanitising procedures
- Food Safety Programs - record keeping requirements
- What if something does go wrong? - reporting & corrective action
For those unable to attend a facilitated course, we also offer a Distance Education option , known as our Food Handler Flexi Pack ($99)
Option 1: 6hr onsite course (suitable for those who have never worked in the industry, including school leavers. Also suitable for participants from a non English speaking background, however participants must be able to read, write and speak English to a workplace standard to complete assessment).
$1,740 (GST exempt) 6hr course for up to 12 people onsite at your workplace. ($43 per extra participant up to maximum of 20 participants)
OR
Option 2: 4½ hr intensive onsite course (Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English). A one page pre-reading document is also provided to course participants.
$1,305 (GST Exempt) 4½hr course for up to 12 people onsite at your workplace. ($43 per extra participant up to maximum of 20 participants).
